The file rules for the Brazil e-visa photo
The portal’s photo specification gives both a size and a pixel count: 3.5 x 4.5 cm, or 413 x 531 pixels, an upright rectangle rather than a square. The file is a JPEG or JPG of up to 2 MB.
The upload only succeeds when the extension and the size match what the upload step shows, so a HEIC file, or a phone photo over 2 MB, does not get past the upload step.

2 x 2 inch photos and printed copies

- Retake the photo if needed: plain white wall, glasses and hat off, hair tied back, a neutral face.
- Crop to the 3.5 x 4.5 proportion with space above the head and the shoulders in the frame.
- Resize to 413 x 531 pixels and save as a JPEG.
- Check that the file is 2 MB or less.
- Upload it as the portrait, separate from the passport bio page.
