Questions people ask

What shape and framing does a Russia e-visa photo need?

An upright rectangle in the 35:45 proportion, saved as JPEG. The face takes up 70 to 80 percent of it, centered, with the top of the head and the top of the shoulders in frame.

The Foreign Ministry pages give the proportion only, with no pixel count or file-size limit, so the picture is judged on framing and quality.

Can you wear glasses or a head covering in a Russia e-visa photo?

Glasses are allowed if the eyes are clearly visible, the lenses are not tinted and the frames cover no part of the eyes; the ministry suggests lighter frames over heavy ones when possible.

A head covering is accepted for religious reasons, provided the face shows clearly from the bottom of the chin to the top of the forehead.
